List of 100 most innovative blogs for educators

Blogs are a rich source of information and educators are integrating IT knowledge with their teaching resulting in great benefits. It is difficult to find education related blogs as search engines don't provide very specific results in terms of quality. Most of the online resources or sites offer useful stuff but mostly those sites are selling software or other educational stuff, and you are forced to see banners or ads as well. But if you keep a bookmark record of quality search engines, sites and blogs related to education stuff, you can save a lot of time.

I found this list of '100 Most Inspiring and Innovative Blogs for Educators' at 'Online University Reviews' a site which offers online university reviews, rating and rankings of online universities.

From preschool to graduate education, these 100 blogs are a great starting point for educators looking for inspiration and innovation.

Amazing paper craft blogs

Paper craft is not only limited to the paper folding or origami. You would be amazed to see the work poeple do with simple papers, as I was astonished to see the artistic creation. It is simplt ab art
According to Wikipedia

"Origami (折り紙 origami?) (from ori meaning "folding", and kami meaning "paper") is the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. The goal of this art is to create a given result using geometric folds and crease patterns preferably without the use of gluing or cutting the paper medium.

Origami only uses a small number of different folds, but they can be combined in a variety of ways to make intricate designs. In general, these designs begin with a square sheet of paper whose sides may be different colors. Contrary to most popular belief, traditional Japanese origami, which has been practiced since the Edo era (1603-1867), has often been less strict about these conventions, sometimes cutting the paper during the creation of the design. There are many different designs such as the traditional crane or the very confusing flower."

2- Peter Callesen.com

Peter Callesen is from Denmark, and he is a paper magician, becaue the craft he has created from flat piece of paper into a 3D form is unbelievable.

He uses the A4 blank sheet of paper, which in his opinion gives the paper sculptures a fragility which underlines the tragic and romantic theme of the works.

Links for teachers to start educational blogs

Today there is lot of scope for teachers to have their own blogs, and thus make better use of blogging platform. Teachers can stay connected to their students, their parents.

What you can do more with blogs, is explained byBlogger:

"With Blogs you can update parents about their children's progress and keep them posted on upcoming events; publish a class or school newsletter; share photos and student work; post course documents, projects and results; and easily assign collaborative group projects online with an easy way to track students’ progress.

Students can use Blogs to communicate ideas, photos and class notes, improve their writing skills, and even jump right into web publishing without having to learn HTML. Free blogs, accessible from any computer that’s connected to the Internet, can help students easily create hubs for collecting information for both long and short-term projects; store information as unpublished drafts; collect feedback on their work from classmates, teachers and parents; and take on collaborative projects where multiple students can work and comment.

Even school sports teams, dance clubs and other extracurricular school groups can use Blogger to communicate with parents about upcoming events; share group calendars; and offer event highlights and pictures. Blogs give students the opportunity to reflect, to vent and most of all to share their experiences."

Sites for Islamic images and pictures

From a long age, I wanted to collect all links and resources about Islamic sites, miracle pictures, Islamic blogs, and Islam related stuff. Allah has fulfilled my wish, and now I am saving all my book mark sites, links, images at this blog to share with all. I love Arabic calligraphy and I love to draw Islamic pictures with calligraphic verses.

Here are some links and few pictures. I would be updating these posts, as I get new and more links and resources.
Islamic Finder has a good collection of pictures, which can be used as e-card also.

I liked the page with miracle pictures: Miracle pictures

Another site with miracle pictures is: Miracles of Islam To my knowledge they have the largest collection of authentic Islamic miracle pictures. You can subscribe there by entering you e-mail, to get updates at your inbox.
They say:
"This site provides you with access to Internet's largest collection of Islamic miracle pictures. Our goal and intention is not to prove Islam using these pictures, but to show the world that Allah's signs are visible all around."
